Yesterday, we hosted our second Veterinary Student Engagement Workshop with students from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine!
Our topic was one that is very near and dear to our hearts - what it means to be "cat friendly".
After our "Cat's Eye View" presentation by Dr. Lacie, students divided into groups for some hands-on learning. Haley gave students an in-depth tour of our hospital, highlighting details that can make clinics more comfortable for feline patients. Dr. Lacie showed students many practical exam skills, such as checking patients' eyes, ears, and noses. Dr. Edwards demonstrated how interact with both patients and pet parents, and helped students conduct blood pressure monitoring - and so, so much more!
It was a pleasure to host such a compassionate group of students. Education is one of our passions and we hope to have many more Engagement Days in the future!
Special thanks to our lovely kitty participants shown here - Bunni (Dr. Lacie's cat), Mose (Dr. Edwards' cat), and Goose (Haley's cat)! They all were rewarded with TONS of treats and love.
