feline heart study at cat care center

Cat Care Center is proud to participate in an exciting clinical study evaluating a potential new treatment for feline heart disease. This clinical trial is investigating a new medication designed to help slow the progression of heart disease in cats. The study will provide up to 18 months of veterinary cardiology care at no cost to eligible participants, including:

  • Comprehensive cardiology exams
  • Echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds)
  • Electrocardiograms (heart rhythm evaluations)
  • Chest x-rays
  • Bloodwork & urinalysis
  • Study medication or placebo

Is Your Cat Eligible?

Your cat may qualify for the study if they meet these criteria:

  • Diagnosed with heart disease within the last 60 days
  • At least 12 months old and at least 4.4 lbs (2 kg)
  • Clinically stable at the time of enrollment
  • Not diabetic or receiving insulin
  • Not pregnant, nursing, or intended for breeding

How Does It Work?

Cats in the study will receive either the investigational medication or a placebo (a liquid that looks the same but contains no medication).
Cat owners will be asked to administer a once-daily liquid dose at home.
All diagnostic tests and treatments required by the study are provided completely free of charge.

Why Participate?

By enrolling in this study, your cat will receive FREE expert cardiology care with Dr. Lacie Lee while helping advance research that could lead to lifesaving treatments for future generations of cats!
